Summer Solstice Festival June 21!

On Sunday, June 21st, the first day of summer, the Traveling Jewburys once again were happy to lend our support and music to the annual Make Music New York solstice celebration.  The band will made two big appearances this year:

12pm to 1pm: At Malt & Mold Gramercy.  362 Second Avenue between 21st and 22nd.  The Malt & Mold turned out to be a charming little store that sells fancy cheeses and tasty beers.  We gathered a nice crowd and enjoyed the bright sunshine - despite forecasts to the contrary.

6pm to 7pm: At Malt & Mold Lower East Side.  221 East Broadway.  We set up a second time at the East Broadway store of the same franchise- Malt & Mold.  The set was going quite well when out of nowhere the heavens opened up and we were deluged with rain.  Still - the band finished the song we were playing before running for cover.

In its 9th year, Make Music New York  is a unique solstice festival of free shows in public spaces throughout the City.  MMNY takes place simultaneously with similar festivities in more than 700+ cities around the world — a global celebration of music making.  Completely different from a typical music festival.  The TJs look forward to participating in the MMNY schedule again next year, and hope that you’ll come along and join us!
